Fragment 1 recto, line 1: See 2Co 1:3

Fragment 1 recto, line 2: For ικτειρμων read οικτιρμων. See 2Co 1:3

Fragment 1 recto, line 3: See 2Co 1:3. The word επακουσον is the clue that leads one to believe this is a prayer.

Fragment 1 recto, line 4: Worp and Sijpesteijn conjecture that “One can imagine that the lost part at the end of line 4 originally read: σε δια της.”

Fragment 1 recto, line 5: Worp and Sijpesteijn note that αγαθοτητος has to do with the goodness of God.

Fragment 1 recto, line 6: Worp and Sijpesteijn transcribe εις εις, which represents the visible letters but makes little sense. The letters are ..αεισειστη so there may be some combination of the preposition or a combination of words with differing orthogaphy (ει instead of ι, see note on line 1).
